Since the 1st October 2018 we’ve been as Radio Linden on air.
We had set ourselves ambitious goals back then:
- Promoting art and culture in Hannover-Linden
- Providing a platform for diverse groups
- Acting as a network in terms of infrastructure
- Involving initiatives and businesses
- Covering culture, sport, news and politics at a local level
However, we realised that much of this was not feasible given our staffing levels. Whilst this was possible for the various music broadcasts, it unfortunately proved unworkable for editorially intensive programmes with a high proportion of spoken content. Those who might be interested in getting involved are usually already involved in other projects and initiatives and, alongside their regular jobs, family life and maintaining friendships, often have no spare capacity left to actively helping to produce shows. Added to this is the fact that the traditional radio feature has now largely been replaced by the podcast format.
Following a critical analysis of the reasons at hand, we are now a music station striving to create a varied and high-quality programme.
